September 10, 2026 – Hong Kong – The entire staff of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited (“Loop Hong Kong Park Company”) expresses profound sorrow at the passing of Mr. Tung Chee-hwa, former Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the first Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSAR”), and extends its deepest condolences to his family.
Mr. Tung Chee-hwa served as the first Chief Executive of Hong Kong following its return to the Motherland. He led Hong Kong through a smooth transition and laid a solid foundation for the governance of the HKSAR, as well as for the development of innovation and technology (“I&T”). Deeply patriotic to the country, Mr. Tung dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the service of Hong Kong and made significant contributions to the advancement of the city’s I&T industry. He was held in high esteem by the I&T community.
Mr. Tung always cared deeply about Hong Kong’s long-term development, with particular emphasis on the cultivation of youth and the future of society. The Loop Hong Kong Park Company will uphold the pioneering spirit of those who came before us and continue to press ahead the development of the Park, contributing to the future development of Hong Kong.
