8 July 2026 – Hong Kong – Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (“HSITP”) participated as the exclusive Innovation Gateway Partner in LEAP East 2026 — the inaugural international edition of the globally recognised LEAP technology platform, launching in Hong Kong for the first time today. HSITP brought 21 innovation and technology (“I&T”) enterprises to the HSITP Pavilion, showcasing HSITP’s innovation ecosystem to technology leaders, investors, and industry partners from the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and around the world.
LEAP East marks the first time LEAP, a major technology event in the Middle East, has been staged outside Saudi Arabia, and its debut in Asia. Since its launch in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia in 2022, LEAP has facilitated more than US$40 billion in deals across four editions. This year’s LEAP East gathers over 250 investors, 400 exhibitors, and more than 250 expert speakers. Through this international I&T event, HSITP brings HSITP’s enterprises onto the global I&T and investment stage, deepening connections with global I&T resources, and contributing to Hong Kong’s development as an international I&T centre.
Global Participating Enterprises with Recent Breakthroughs
Among HSITP’s 21 participating enterprises, 11 are from the Life and Health Technology sector, and 10 are from the Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) and Data Science industry. They hail from Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Singapore, Korea, Australia, Switzerland, France, and the United States, spanning frontier fields such as biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, smart healthcare, AI foundation models, intelligent robotics, drones, and cybersecurity. This fully demonstrates HSITP’s strengths in pooling global I&T resources as an international I&T hub.
Of the 21 enterprises led by HSITP, several have recently achieved notable successes in financing and product approvals. AI company Mindverse earlier completed a Series A financing round, with cumulative funding close to USD50 million. PanopticAI, after receiving U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) 510(k) clearance for contactless pulse rate monitoring, further obtained FDA clearance for respiratory rate measurement — becoming the world’s only mobile app using a standard camera to be cleared for two core vital sign monitoring functions. Australian medical device company SDIP Innovations also received FDA 510(k) clearance for its self-developed JAZBI™ Resorbable Bone Void Filler material, marking the first commercial application of its patented biomaterials platform. These achievements highlight HSITP’s strength as a platform that pools global I&T resources and drives the translation of research and development (“R&D”) outcomes into real-world applications.
Mr. Vincent Ma, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited (“HSITPL”), stated, “HSITP benefits from the unique advantages of ‘one river, two banks’ and ‘one zone, two parks’. It serves as both a convergence point for Mainland and international I&T resources and a testing ground for institutional and policy innovation. LEAP East brings together over 250 investors, making it an ideal platform for us to showcase Hetao’s institutional advantages as a ‘special region within and outside the country’, and to connect Middle Eastern capital with Greater Bay Area innovation power. We look forward to this event enabling the 21 HSITP enterprises to ‘go global’, connecting with international investors and industry partners, accelerating R&D translation and internationalisation, while advancing HSITP’s mission to promote Hong Kong as a globally influential I&T hub.”
Dedicated Exchanges with International Delegations to Deepen Cross-Boundary Collaboration
During LEAP East, the HSITP Pavilion will host I&T study groups from France, Korea, and other countries, further strengthening connections and collaboration between Hong Kong and international I&T ecosystems. Mr. Vincent Ma, CEO of HSITPL, will also speak on the Main Stage of LEAP East on 10 July. He will discuss how Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and Saudi Arabia can help innovative technology companies transition from testing to market growth through capital, infrastructure, and cross-border collaboration.
