YIN 2206

30 March 2026 – Hong Kong – Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Company Limited (HSITPL) today hosted the “HSITP Incubation Programme Launch Ceremony cum Tech Day Exhibition[KC1.1]”, marking the official launch of the Park’s first cohort of incubation programmes. HSITP is committed to building a world-class industry-academia-research platform, fostering exchange and collaboration among stakeholders across the innovation and technology (“I&T”) ecosystem, and accelerating the translation of innovative ideas and market-ready research and development (“R&D”) outcomes into real-world applications.

Last year, the Legislative Council allocated HK$200 million to establish the “HSITP Incubation
Support Programme for Life and Health Technology Start-ups”, supporting life and health technology start-ups based in the Hong Kong Park, driving the transformation of research outcomes. At the same time, HSITPL allocated resources to implement the HSITP Incubation Programme (“the Programme”), in cooperation with leading global incubation platforms and focuses on two key areas: Life and Health Technology, and AI and Data Science. By integrating industry resources, technology platforms, mentor networks, and global markets as well as financing and investment networks, the Programme provides selected start-ups with end-to-end support across R&D, validation, and commercialisation. It will inject fresh I&T momentum into the Hetao Co-operation Zone and promote Hong Kong’s high-quality economic development.

The Launch Ceremony was officiated by Professor Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the HKSAR Government; Mr. Kevin Choi, Permanent Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the HKSAR Government [KC2.1]and Chairperson of HSITPL; together with board members of HSITPL. Programme partners, I&T enterprises, and industry representatives were also invited to attend. At the same venue, a Tech Day showcased the innovative concepts and products of enterprises within the Park’s I&T ecosystem, while facilitating networking and exchange among start-ups, industry partners, investors, and professional service providers.

Three Programme Streams Covering Different Growth Stages

The HSITP Incubation Programme accepted applications from 17 November to 30 December 2025, receiving more than 750 submissions and ultimately selecting 108 start-ups. The selected cohort comes from across the globe: in addition to Hong Kong, Macao, and the Mainland, it also includes enterprises from Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States. Overseas start-ups account for around 16% of the total selected start-ups, reflecting the Programme’s international appeal.

The Programme supports start-ups at different stages — from inception to accelerated expansion — through three streams:

  • SPIN@HSITP: provides a 1-year funding and support to tech entrepreneurs, facilitating the transformation of innovative ideas into tangible commercial outcomes.

  • IGNITE@HSITP: provides start-ups with funding assistance and incubation support services for a period of 2 to 4 years.

  • GAS@HSITP: provides start-ups with funding assistance and acceleration services for a period of 3 to 4 years.
